Another step towards the future

In Godshome we spoke to Karina Kerensky, she gave us a rod and indicated a sacred place of Zivilin where we should use the rod and talk with the spirit of a cleric that could know how to help us blind the future for our enemy.

Our horses grew wings, and they seemed to know exactly where they needed to take us, after a day or two traveling, i cannot recall the exactly time, we reached a holy site of Zivilin. There we searched for the cleric, and discovered that servants of Levantine desecrated the place, tortured and transformed the guardian of the site and then left leaving behind a monstrosity that inhabits the nightmares of the most vile creatures in the universe, we had to fight the disgusting creature, and when we reached the guardian, he managed to show us where we should use the rod, but asked to be released of hes pain, things where implanted on him and he didn’t wanted to take the risk to be regenerated, we dispelled the evil spells that kept him alive and he finally rested.

we summoned the spirit of the other cleric, and he asked us to go to a place where he could shield us from our enemy, so nothing he could say to us was going to be known by Levantine and hes servants. The place was near the famous Zigurat of Zivilin, there he would be waiting for us, and to there we headed.

Godshome

We headed to Godshome in order to speak with Karina Kerensky, according to Faye she could have more information to share with us, during this travel, we got ambushed by the forces of chaos and using some strange artifact they tried to steal information from us, using some kind of illusion, Nesirie saved us and we found out to be in Godshome in the middle of a batle involving the angel of death, the forces of Levantine, Nesirie and her companions.

We joined that fight and we’re able to defeat their forces, at least two of then escaped, but we managed to kill the giant ebony beast who used to command the chaos warriors.

Nesirie told us that she wasn’t the Nesirie we know right now, but one that came from one of the possible futures of Krinn, she explained that where she lived the circle of dawn was killed during this event, and now she managed to change it. According to her, our enemy can see the future and that is why we can’t fight him in the same terms, our only chance was to remove this power from him, otherwise we would fail.

Time is of the essence

Some time passed since I last updated this journal, and more and more our enemy makes he’s moves, some of the things we discovered in our investigations:

– The Princess of Medora returned, she was found in an abandoned castle and is now waiting for coronation, Lillyana and Declan spoke to her, and they found out that she was sent to another world, the same world Nesirie claims to be her home. We couldn’t interrogate her about the events that lead her to kill her husband.

– Samantha came back from Sancrist and met us in Windkeep where she told us that the Chosen Prophet was attacked by the paladin of Paladine, the attack failed but with the help of the ranger priest of Habbakukki Varya Kerensky, Faye was able to escape the holy island. Considering that the Circle of Dawn was the organization who testify that Faye was the holy paladin of the Platinum Dragon, Samantha figured out that we would be held in Solanthus for averiguation, and so she ordered us to investigate what happened and bring the truth to our leaders avoiding contact with the solamnics otherwise our enemy would gain time.

I’m now able to cast the spell Sending and I used it to contact Faye, I arranged a meeting with her in the ruins of her old keep, there she gave us grievous news.

– She didn’t attacked the Chosen prophet, she was there to do it, but someone did it first and used some illusion or disguise to make it appear as if she had done it, but what matters is the reason that take her to go there planning to attack him, she found out that the chosen prophet was attacked and killed by the Emperor of All Dragons, he used an ancient and evil artifact known as the Bloodstone of Fistandantilus and with that he replaced him and put the churches of good at great risk.

Prelude to a war

After leaving Ca-ergoth and heading back to the orders quarters, i met Lillyana and Lyn waiting there, the news awaiting me where as bad as the one i was carrying, and soon i found out that the keep was visited by a servant of Levantine, he was there to offer us the chance to join then, which was instantly refused, after he leave, the elementals conjured by the clerics of Reorx got corrupted and started to attack their masters, some parts of the keep that still under construction where severed damaged and at least one dwarf died at the event.

We waited a few days and Declan arrived with more bad news, her child was taken away by the dark elfs when they where banished from the kingdom of Taman Kandon, while he investigated and followed their trail he found Rayne, which was attacked and was uttering her last words, i can’t quite remember the words, but it lead Declan to think that “The Black Man” is trying to get the child, and that her housband is bringing her to him.

Some days after that, Delron arrived, now the master of the white robes, some good news after all, not that good actually. Hes Grandma appeared and the conclave of the mages, and the master was going to be chosen between her or Delron, the last time she saw him, she said that it was the last time both would see each other and with that in mind Delron accepted the indication to become the new master of the white robes, feeling that she might not be her grandma, or at least not the one he used to know, but another trick of our enemy, in both ways we lost, with hes new duty, Delron will probably have to leave the order, and that will cripple us, the other way our enemy would have taken over a very powerful and valuable allie we have against hes forces, the High Sorcery.

Back to Ca-Ergoth

At Arriving in Ca-Ergoth after using the Succor, i was notified that i should attend the City nobles meeting.
The subject of this meeting was the fact that the church of Gillean denounced that someone invaded a sacred place of the church and destroyed its guardians.
I informed the nobles that it did happened and that the group who invaded the place was The circle of dawn, who did it with authorization of the Solamnic autorities.
After that meeting, a turmoil started at the city, and a huge animosity between the nobles with Ergothian ascedance and the solamnics.
The church of Gillean asked for punishment for the responsibles and a public retratment from the solamnic authorities.
The Solamnic High-Justice was assigned to deal with the turmoil in Ca-ergoth, and since i was the one involved with the matter, he soon come to meet me, i reported what happened during the nobles city council and he asked me for advice in how to deal with it, the solutions he pointed where:
A) Give what they want to avoid more problems with the church and censouring the Grand Master of the Solamnic knights for this act.
B) Tell the church that the knights are tired of they doing nothing to help, and that they are not welcome to Solamnia anymore.

My advice was that we can’t punish a man for doing the right thing.

After that it was announced that the church of Gillean should leave the city.

With that decision, the turmoil increased and the animosity turned aparently, even the knights where divided by that resolution, i tried to calm down the knights but my speach was misunderstood and I ended up raising even more the animosity.

Took only a few days for the Grand master of the order decide to submitt to the church wishes, but he wasn’t allowed by the order, a conclave was called and the lords where called to Solantus to decide on that matter, in the en they decided that the Grand Master should not rule over this matter and the eddict was sustained. the order would not punish or appology for what was done.

The Truth behind the Sect

After the rescue of the boys, we started some investigation about the teacher who attacked us with the sect in the swamp, but we couldn’t find much information, when we left the Academy of Sorcery, another teacher did something strange, he killed hes entyre class and then was killed by another sorcecer of the academy.

The High Sorcery Blood hounds where called to investigate what is happening at the academy, we started some investigation with then, and found out that another teacher was missing, the bloodhounds started to chase him in search of answers. We also find out while examing the diaries of the deceased teacher that hes changed the ways he used to right things, hes handwrite was different from an specific date on, we decided to look at the other professors diary also and the same happened to him, more than that we couldn’t find, except that they didn’t noted the changing on their writings, at least not the one the bloodhounds captured.

Delron decided to try and contact the Cleric who disapeared during the fight and convince him to explain what the church of Chemosh knows and what they are doing. He arranged the meeting for the Tower of Nightlund.

We escorted Delron there, and hes findings where very disturbing:

Levantine has now control over part of the Abyss and is using the sous that deserve the punishment of this plane as soldiers of hes army.

The church of Chemosh devised a way to get those souls and put then into a recently dead body, which makes me wonder if they are killing good and decent people in order to use their bodies as vessels for those damned souls. Completly unaceptable I’d say, and I didn’t regret that we stoped that plan.

The enemy of my enemy…?

We left Thorbardin with the mission to investigate some events in Schalsea, a rumor about undeads able to cast primal magic in a swamp close to the city.

After our arrival I headed to the inn with Ashley, while the others to the school of sorcery in order to access more information about the situation on the island.

After some interviews and conversations with the headmaster and some teachers of the school, they decided to interview the “troublesome” students of the academy: Bertran, Carnegie, Robin and Daniel.

Nothing was discovered in those interviews that could lead to a clue to prove if the rumor was fake or if there was truth behind it.

At that same day during the night Carnegie come to our inn and wake up Declan, saying that hes other friends where following a teacher into the swamp. We gathered up and headed that way also afraid that they would be in great danger.

We found Bertran uncouncious in the swamp aparently due to a fight with undeads that ended with the capture of Robin and Daniel. After healing him he said that they where taken by a host of undeads, we folowed their trail and find the place where they took the boys.

Once we entered it, we found ourselves being attacked by a demon and a group of undeads in a place that ressembled a temple. At first they tought we where a mere group of adventurers, and tried to kill us fast, once they noticed that we are the Circle of Dawn, one of then tried to talk with us and stop the attack from both sides, wich didn’t happened, no matter what they’re doing agains’t chaos, calling demons is something i cannot let pass without action to intervene, at the same time, the demons where resolute in try and kill us all.

The supposed priest that tried to argue with us then left the battle by the means of magic saying that we should be at the same side.

The fight ended with one devil killed and another that left the battle probably because he didn’t saw a reason to stay fighting.

We saved the boys and now we need to find out what was happening there and who are those people.

Shadow & Flames

During our visit to Thorbadin, Samantha asked me and Delron if we could look at the statue where Wynn supposedly appeared. After some investigation, Delron defined that she insn’t a contruct or an outsider, he also find out some other details, that i’m not sure right now.

After hes investigation, I used an augury to determine if I should break the enchantment on the statue, the result was that something bad and something good would result from that action. I dispelled the enchant and a creature with six arms and a body of fire and wind appeared and quickly transformed into a gate, due to some wards I’ve prepared before the break enchantment, creatures couldn’t get away of the warded area, Ashley surrounded it with a Blade Barrier, and a massive number of lesser demons found their end ond the blades of force.

Two other demons appeared and we had to deal with then, and during the battle with the second one, whose broke the wards that imprisioned the others, a third and greater demon appeared, one that resembled one of the most feared demons of the Abyss, a Balor, that demon imprisioned me on my own body with hes dark magic and I was unable to fight him.
During that fight, Delron was stunned by the creature twice, and Declan was killed by an Implosion, the fight was one of the most hard and intense of our lifes, but with greater dificult, we prevailed.

The Last Dragonward

Dragonward is a noble solamnic family, with a proud history, a family known for its devoted paladins,inspiring knights and misteryous mages.

One would think that to keep the glorious days of this family alive, i would have to prove myself day after day, fighting evil, defending the weak, inspiring the people, or unveiling secrets of the arcane, unfortunally thats not what is expected from me, for quite some time, i wanted to become part of history, to put my name among the immortal heroes of Krinn, like the paladins Alden and Trevor Dragonward. I finally understood that more important than anything like this, is the fight against evil and those who want to harm or enslave the innocent people of Krinn, no matter if they know about you or your deeds.

What terrifies me, is the fact that i’m the last Dragonward, responsible to keep the family’s name alive, and i’m failing at that, a simple and common task is the only thing required of me, and seems that i’m not very found of simple tasks, to have a baby that will carry our name.

I always tought that the solamnic parties and all those meetings at the court where a lost of time, was never found of dancing or interested by the conversations of those circles, and now i’m almost thirty years old and still not married.

To make things even more complicated, the person i’ve chosen to be with can’t give me a baby. I’m very proud of my name, and i have myself in high regards, wich make things a bit more complicated, since i don’t want a no one to be the father of the dragonwards heir, and the two men i judge worth to fathering this child, none is interested.

The Black Rose

After getting back to Solamnia, we headed to Solantus where we could be judged for disobeying a law in Solamnic territory that forbided us to cross a frontier with the lands of the emperor of all dragons, even not agreeing with the law or with the lord that created it, and considering the situation we faced that took us to ignore the lord’s orders, we all agreed that we should report it and face a judgment for that.

We all asked for a martial trial to avoid any exposition of our supporters among the knights. We have been judged guilted, and the black rose was there to remind us of our deeds, it was a shame, but at least i’m in peace with my concience now.
Since our actions didn’t harmed anyone our our sentence was six weeks of reclusion wich by the end of the trial had been already passed.

For Lili, things where worse, since she is a knight and ignored a superior order, she got Demoted from her rank in the knighthood, i can just wonder how she feels, she didn’t talked to me after it, and knowing her, i decided to let her alone for a while, just wonder if she needs me as I need her right now.
